THE SUDDEN demise of Tyron (his name is spelled without an E) Perez shocked his batchmates in Startstruck 1 like Mark Herras, Jennylyn Mercado, Cristine Reyes, Nadine Samonte, Rainier Castillo, Dion Ignacio and Yasmien Kurdi. They all couldn’t believe he’s gone. Tyron’s lifeless body was found by the police inside his car in Valenzuela on the night of December 29, Thursday, with a gunshot wound in the head. Investigations are still going on to find out whether he committed suicide or there was foul play involved.
Many placed their bets on Tyron during Starstruck 1 as he has the advantage of height, being nearly 6 feet tall. The youngest in a brood of six, he’s from Concepcion, Tarlac and was taking up fine arts at Bulacan State U when he joined showbiz as part of Kuya Germs’ Walang Tulugan. He joined Starstruck 1 in 2003.
He played supporting roles in GMA shows, the biggest of which was his villain role in “Bakekang”. He went sexy when offered to be launched to stardom in Mel Chionglo’s “Twilight Dancers” in 2006 where he played a macho dancer. We wrote several articles on him to support his solo movie and he’s very thankful for that. He’d approach us each time he’d see us in a showbiz function. Sadly, his career still didn’t take off.
Last year (2010), we were surprised when he was introduced playing a villain role in ABS-CBN’s “Momay”. He told us he’s under the management of Star Magic. We learned he has also married his flight attendant girlfriend, Liv Espino. He also guested in ABS-CBN’s “Imortal”, “Mula sa Puso” and three episodes of “Maalaala Mo Kaya”.
Tyron is the second Starstruck discovery to depart after Marky Cielo, who also left in December, 2008. He’s also the second actor with Perez as family name to leave this year, the first being the late AJ Perez who perished in a car crash. Let’s all pray for the repose of their souls.
