What Manny Pacquiao Did To Comedian Pooh For Impersonating Him

WHEN COMEDIAN Pooh left Samar and came to Manila to study, he first worked as a housekeeper in Wise Hotel in Quiapo and as food server in Burger Connection. “Since I sing, may nagdala sa’kin sa Music Box, pero yung star dun, si Sonny Pinca, sinigawan ako, ‘Bumaba ka diyan, di ka magaling’. May iba pang kumuha sa’kin until Mamu Andrew de Real gave me the break sa Library then sa Laffline. Dun ako nakilala while impersonating Manny Pacquiao at isinalang ako sa ‘Wowowee’. Then I performed for Manny mismo sa GenSan. Kala ko, nagalit, pero tawa ng tawa at pinakuha yung bank account number ko. Nagdeposit ng P30,000 as additional talent fee ko.”

Because of his regular exposure in “Banana Split”, he became in demand in various gigs here and abroad. Now, he has a yearend concert “Pooh Live” at Metro Bar on West Ave. tomorrow, December 29, 8 PM. His guests are his “Banana Split” colleagues John Prats and Jayson Gainza who’ll do several comic acts with him. “Ibang level ang excitement ko for this show dahil thanksgiving ko rin ito to all the fans na walang sawang tumatawa sa jokes ko. I promise sasakit ang tiyan ng lahat sa katatawa to welcome the new year right.”
