Will Viva Succeed In Boosting Kc Concepcion's Showbiz Career?

JUST LIKE HER mom Sharon Cuneta, KC Concepcion has signed up with Viva the other day to be managed by Boss Vic del Rosario and his daughter Veronique. Obviously, KC is hoping Viva will make her career hot the way Viva did the careers of Sarah Geronimo, Anne Curtis and Cristine Reyes, whose hit movies are all Viva co-productions with Star Cinema. We thought KC is under contract with Star Magic, who even hosted a special presscon for her when she joined them this year after talent manager Shirley Kuan dropped her, but it turns out she doesn’t really have a contract with them.

In fairness to ABS-CBN, the Kapamilya network really tried hard to push her career with TV specials that formally introduced her to the viewers. She was given her own morning talk show "Simply KC" and her own drama anthology. Later on, she did “Lovers in Paris” with Piolo Pascual and several films. Sadly, only her films with Richard Gutierrez reportedly did well at the box office, but her subsequent ones with Jericho Rosales (“I’ll Be There”) and Sam Milby (“Forever and a Day”) weren’t that successful. She also had her own solo albums. People say her career didn’t soar as expected because her mom is still very much around. It’s said the primary reason she decided to move to Viva (and then to TV5 where her Mom is also connected now) to forever avoid Piolo Pascual who broke her heart. This apparently means she’s not doing the new soap that ABS has assigned to her, “Alta”.
