CHRIS TIU denies the rumor that he’s leaving GMA-7 to move to TV5. “The fact that I have a new show with them, ‘iBilib’, that starts airing this Sunday after ‘Kap’s Amazing Stories’, is enough proof siguro na hindi ako lilipat,” he says.
Another rumor about Chris is that he’s joining politics. “I was offered to run for public office, but it’s not really for me as our family was never into politics and we’re more into business. But I’m not closing my doors. I’m an idealist and sometimes, you should do what you think is right, lalo na’t mahal ko ang Pilipinas and I want to improve ang kalagayan ng bansa natin. If it’s time for me to discern, I will pray to God to guide me and help me decide on it. I have no plans of joining politics but if He’d be the one to say it’s my calling, then it’s my duty as the son of God to obey Him.”
His new show, “iBilib” is an infotainment program about bizarre and incredible happenings in the world of science, making it a perfect combination with “Kap’s Amazing Stories”. He’s co-hosting it with Isabelle Daza and the comic duo of Moymoy Palaboy. It features scientific experiments as seen in Japan’s “Wonders of Horus”, with all the acts performed without any camera tricks.
“It’s very educational as we have actual demos, like viewers will see how to walk on water without getting your feet wet,” he says. Then Sarah Lahbati in “Kokak” must watch this so that she can avoid turning into a frog each time her feet get wet. Step-by-step instructions following each episode will be posted on the iBILIB webpage at www.gmanetwork.com.
