Director Mac Alejandre of Amaya moving to TV-5?

DIRECTOR MAC Alejandre of “Amaya” is in a dilemma. He doesn’t know yet whether he’d leave GMA-7 to accept the offer of TV5 to direct the romantic mini-series that “American Idol” runnerup David Archuleta would do for the network opposite Jasmine Curtis Smith and Eula Caballero. We heard the offer made to him by TV5 exec Perci Intalan is just to attractive to resist, but GMA-7 has made a counter offer that’s also irresistible.

We’re praying for Direk Mac to be able to discern what’s the best decision for him. He has to decide quickly as David will already be arriving in Manila on Friday to meet Jasmine and Eula. Earlier, David said he’d take a leave from showbiz so he can be a Mormon missionary. Obviously, he just couldn’t say no to TV5’s offer for him to also venture into acting and not just singing. After all, no one has offered for him to be an actor in Hollywood. He has many fans here so his show with TV5 might just click with viewers when it starts airing in March.

As for Direk Mac, he is just happy that the last taping day of “Amaya” last Monday went well. It’s a very big scene and all the past characters who appeared in the show like Aljur Abrenica, Raymond Bagatsing, Gardo Versoza and others will make a special appearance in the finale. Also appearing in cameo roles are Dingdong Dantes, Kris Bernal and Rocco Nacino, so don’t miss it.
