Best actor – JM de Guzman and Kean Cipriano as the neophyte indie filmmakers in “Babae sa Septic Tank”, Rocco Nacino and Paulo Avelino as the dancers in “Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa”, Edgar Allan Guzman who nails his role perfectly as the narrator in “Ligo na U Lapit na Me”, Ryan Agoncillo in the title role of “Househusband”, Martin Escudero as the cursed young man who slowly turns gay in “Zombadings”.

Best actress – Eugene Domingo playing herself and as the characters in the movie she’s making in “Babae sa Septic Tank”, Fides Asencio as a faded opera singer who takes care of her ailing brother in “Nino”, Jean Garcia as the understanding teacher in “Sayaw ng Dalawang Kaliwang Paa”, Judy Ann Santos as the supportive working wife in “Househusband”, Maricar Reyes as the idealistic young lawyer who tries to fight corruption in “Anatomiya ng Korupsiyon”, Maja Salvador as the title roler of the runner in “Thelma”.

We’d like to make special mention of child stars Nicole Sanoy and Martin de los Santos who both shine as the lead characters in “Patikul”: bright school children who help agitate their parents in standing up against the Abu Sayyaf to give them a better future.
