A LATE ADDITION to our list of showbiz people who passed is screenwriter Jorge Arago, who joined our creator on Dec. 27. He started with the ABS-CBN news department before martial law when it was headed by the late Ric Tierro. A good friend of the late National Artist Ishmael Bernal, he wrote the script of Bernal’s classic 1976 film, “Nunal sa Tubig” and the segment Bernal directed in the 1979 twinbill, “Bakit May Pag-ibig Pa?” He also worked with Bernal in the acclaimed 1980 film “Manila By Night, City After Dark”. His last works are “Ala Verde Ala Pobre” (2005, best screenplay award winner at the CInemanila Filmfest) and “Ala Suerte Ala Muerte” (2007) both directed by Briccio Santos. Let’s pray that his soul may find peace with the Lord.
