MAJA SALVADOR looks so pretty at the presscon of the Wedding & Debuts Bridal Fair to be held at SM Megatrade Halls 1, 2 and 3 from February 17 to 19. She’s the model of their posters along with Fil-Italian ballet dancer Angelo Cacciatore. Two days later, she also attended the presscon of her new movie with real life Fil-Italian BF Matteo Guidicelli, “My Cactus Heart”. She seems to be the favorite of Fil-Italian guys? “Nagkataon lang,” she laughs. Is it true she and Mateo broke up for a while? "No. Hindi po. Kung puede nga lang, sana siya na ang last boyfriend ko, ang pakakasalan ko, pero seven years from now pa pag 30 na ako."
The Bridal Fair is put up annually by events-organizer The Wedding Library since 1994. This year, they’re sponsored by designer Edd Sy whose clients include Marian Rivera, Angel Locsin and Jennylyn Mercado; Charisse Tinio of Nice Print that offers digital photo and video services, covering the weddings of Ogie Alcasid-Regine Velasquez, Kyla-Rich Alvarez and other celebrity nuptials; jeweller AMI Jewels, and Alex Michael del Rosario of Juan Carlo the Caterer. If you want to be part of the Bridal Fair, call 638-5791 or log on to weddinglibrary.com.ph for inquiries. Why did they choose Maja as their model? “She’s so beautiful at nagagalingan kasi kami sa kanya,” they say.
Maja’s “My Cactus Heart” is due for showing on January 25. She plays Sandy, a young woman from a dysfunctional family who doesn’t believe in ‘happily ever after’. “Very cynical siya,” she says. “Ang belief niya, love only hurts kaya lahat ng suitors niya, binabasted niya. Yun nga ang original title nitong movie, ‘Basted’. Pero pinalitan ng ‘Cactus Heart’ kasi ang puso ko raw rito, maraming tinik, kaya nasasaktan ang kahit sinong gusto mapalapit dito kasi jaded na masyado. Matigas na, manhid.”
But then two ardent suitors come along, both determined to make her change her mind: her real life BF Matteo as Karlo and Xian Lim as Bene. Will they succeed in winning her cactus heart? And who’ll be the lucky guy?
“Yun ang malalaman nyo when you watch the movie,” says Maja. “This is directed by Enrico Santos and I assure you this is so much more refreshing than other romantic films you’ve seen in the past. Mas kikiligin kayo.”
