Ogie Alcasid Says Wife Regine Velasquez Has Lost 30 Lbs. For Their Valentine Concert

OGIE ALCASID just returned home from a six-day trip to Sydney, Australia to visit his two daughters, Leila, 14, and Sarah, 9, with ex-wife Michelle Van Eimeren. “I really missed them kasi matagal na ko di nakapunta roon,” he says. “Sarah wants us to go to the beach kaya lang malamig kahit summer doon ngayon, so nag-shopping na lang kami. They’re so excited to see their brother Nate. Baka sa August, on my 45th birthday, we’ll all meet in Singapore at doon pa lang nila makikita ang kapatid nila. Kasi Michelle is also busy with her flower shop, called Affair with George kasi Georgette is her second name. Her specialty is flower arrangement for weddings.”

As of now, he and wife Regine Velasquez are busy preparing for their Valentine concert on February 14 at the Araneta Coliseum, “Mr. and Mrs. A”, for the benefit of kids afflicted with cancer. “Rege has lost 30 lbs. of the 60 lbs. she gained during her pregnancy, just for this concert. Pinagdebatehan na namin ang aming repertoire. This is our 3rd big concert together and I said huwag na naming kantahin yung songs that we used to do na. We agreed we’ll sing more romantic OPM songs of the 80s that we grew up with like the songs of Ric Segreto, pero centered pa rin sa buhay mag-asawa. But when we made a survey on twitter and Facebook, our fans said they also want the songs that we popularized so isasali rin namin yun, pati yung birit songs nI Rege. The concert is directed by Randy Santiago and he wants to feature us as husband and wife kaya we’ll have videos showing us doing ordinary things like having breakfast together and taking care of our baby who’s very much a part of our life now.”

Is he scared that they’re facing competition from other Valentine concerts? “We can’t help it kasi Valentine is the season for singers. Pag singer ka’t wala kang Valentine show, parang kawawa ka naman, so marami talagang competition dahil I feel every singer should have his own Valentine show, kahit saang venue.”

Ogie is surely one of our busiest celebs today. He’s doing drama in “Daldalita”, comedy in “Bubble Gang”, hosting and singing in “Party Pilipinas” and he’s also doing two new movies: “Doobidoobidoo” with Eugene Domingo and Zsa Zsa Padilla and “Boy Pickup”.

He’s sad that “Daldalita” is ending in February. “January 28 is our last taping day. Mami-miss ko yun kasi I enjoyed doing my role as Mateo, the father of Jillian Ward.”  Read related article, Jillian Ward Wants To Be Assured She Has Another Project After Daldalita.
