SHARON CUNETA is back as a talent of Viva where she started and Viva’s Baby Gil hosted lunch for her. “This is my homecoming with Viva,” she says. Her first project for them after she moved to TV5 is the Valentine concert with Martin Nievera, “Once in a Lifetime”. In March, she’ll start shooting her reunion movie with ex-hubby Gabby Concepcion, a co-production of Viva, Studio 5 (TV5 film’s arm) and her own Mega Productions.
She says their whole family is glad that they finally got the formal adoption papers for their baby boy, Miguel, on Dec. 7. “So he’s now officially a Pangilinan.” She feels sad the baby has also been the subject of intrigues saying he’s Sen. Francis’ or KC’s child out of wedlock. “Walang muwang na bata, iniintriga pa. My three girls KC, Frankie and Miel, all fell in love with him they first time they saw him. We’re all so in love with Miguel, the child who came from my heart. He turned 2 last October at naku, very energetic, nakakapagod, parang ipo-ipo. He’s not just handsome and smart, he’s also sweet. The little girls even sleep in his room just to be with him. When they get home from school, he’s the one they first look for so they can carry and cuddle him and play with him.”
What can she say about KC’s decision to stay with ABS? “I don’t meddle naman with her affairs. She’s still very happy with ABS. Umalis lang siya sa Star Magic management para mawala na yung mga intrigang conflicts of interest kasi pareho silang hawak doon ni Piolo (Pascual). She’s now with Boss Vic and she’s in good hands.”
How does she feel about Piolo? “I’ll be a hypocrite if I’d say na ganun ko pa rin siya kamahal gaya ng dati. Hindi naman siya nagpakita sa amin. Even noong maging sila ni KC, never siyang nagpakita sa amin. But I still respect him as an actor.” Read, Kc Concepcion On Why She Broke Up With Piolo Pascual.
Is it true she confronted Charo Santos after the interview of Boy Abunda with KC was edited? “No such things happened. Agree naman ako na dapat nga talagang i-edit. I understand it fully.”
What can she say about writers saying KC will never really hit it big while she’s still very much around? “I think that’s unfair. Give naman my daughter a chance. She’s trying to make it on her own talents. She has a lot to give, to offer.”
What about her two other daughters? “Naku, showbiz din. Frankie sings. She says she’ll be a singer-scientist. She writes songs and she’s also writing her first novel. Si Miel naman is the dancer in the family.”
She’s happy to be doing “Once in a Lifetime” with Martin. “We’ve been friends for 30 years and he’s the ninong of Miel but we’ve never done a back-to-back concert like this. Our voices, our singing styles complement each other, so I’m glad Viva Concerts finally brought us together.”
Tickets for “Once in a Lifetime” range from P800 to P5,000, available at all Ticketnet outlets at 911-5555, at the Araneta ticket booth, or Viva Concerts at 687-7236.
