CHRISTIAN BAUTISTA admits he and “Kitchen Musical” co-star Carla Dunareanu, a Chinese-Romanian actress-model who’s based on Singapore, where their show was taped. He says they officially became on last Valentine’s Day when Carla was here for a visit. So it’s a long distance relationship? “Singapore is very near,” he says. “Ang daling puntahan. And with the technology we have now, we can make it work. She’s here now to watch my concert with Karylle at Resorts World. She has met my family and they all like her. I also met her mom and sister. It’s all so good.”
We ask his manager, Carlo Orosa, how he feels about this? “We at Stages are happy for Carlo. Matagal na siyang walang girlfriend. (The last one was Rachel Anne Go.) He deserves to have an inspiration.”
Christian is celebrating his 10th anniversary in showbiz and Universal Records has issued his new album, “First Class: Expanded Edition”, with a limited edition coffee table book about him. Audie Gemora, who’s co-managing Christian, says that Stages started as an events company. But because of Christian, they also went into talent management ten years ago.
The new album is a must have for all his fans. We like his new versions of his past hits “The Way You Look at Me” and “Hands to Heaven.” But equally impressive are the original cuts “Love You This Much”, “Let Go”, “Sasabihin” (with the NeoColours), and “Whole”, plus his duets with KC Concepcion, “We Could Be in Love”; Japanese pop singer Baby M, “In My Arms”; Sam Concepcion, “Rescue You”; and Angeline Quinto, “In Love with You” which has a beautiful music video shot at the Marina Resort Lighthouse in Subic. Other great songs are those from his “Outbound” album like “All That’s Left”, “Faith”, “What Can I Do”, “Unphotographable”, and the theme song from his movie “Special Symphony” entitled “I’m Already King”. The carrier single from the album is “Beautiful to Me”, now the top downloaded song in mymusicstore.com.ph.
