DANITA PANER says she’s caught between her mom Daisy Romualdez and manager
Annabelle Rama who are currently at war with each other. “Ilang beses na naman silang nagkagalit pero nagkabati rin, so I’m just praying na magkabati na sila uli soon para hindi ako maipit,” she says at the pocket presscon hosted by Annabelle for her new show, ‘Isang Dakot na Luha’, that starts airing today at 4:15 PM. “In fairness kay Mommy, hindi naman niya ko sinasabihang umalis na sa pagma-manage ni Tita Annabelle. At hindi rin naman ako aalis kasi malaki talaga ang naitulong ni Tita sa’kin. From nowhere, naipasok niya ko sa TV5 and I did ‘Driver Sweet Lover’ and ‘Bangis’. Now, heto naman ako sa pioneering afternoon soap nilang ‘Isang Dakot na Luha’. Ngayon lang ako magdadrama kaya kinakabahan ako. ‘Sweet Lover’ kasi is comedy and ‘Bangis’ is action-adventure. “Oo nga, marami kong paghuhugutan,” she laughs. “Two years kami ni Kean and one with JC, pero yung kay JC, doon talaga ako umiyak ng husto. Siguro, hindi lang sandakot kundi sampung dakot na luha ang nawala sa’kin doon, lalo na nung first week after the breakup. Iyak ako ng iyak gabi-gabi. But now, okay na, friends naman kami. We communicate.”
So why did they break up? “Mutual decision. No third party involved. Kasi pareho kaming sobrang busy, wala rin kaming time na for each other. May ‘Isang Dakot na Luha’ ako, may ‘Valiente’ siya na laging out of town ang location. But we’re not closing our doors. We just have to prioritize our careers muna.”
