Most Expensive Koreanovela Ever Made, 'Iris', Starts On Gma-7 This Monday Night

THE MOST EXPENSIVE Koreanovela ever produced, “Iris”, starts airing tonight on GMA-7 after “I Witness”. Its production budget is more than 20 billion Korean won or close to a whopping P800 million. It also won various awards and acting honors at the 2009 KBS Drama Acting Awards.

“Iris” stars Lee Byun Hun (Beautiful Days, G.I. Joe), Kim Tae Hee (Love Story in Harvard, Stairway to Heaven) and Jung Joon Ho (Last Scandal). It’s about two friends, members of the elite Special Forces of the South Korean army, who have tactical skills in covert operations. They’re assigned at the National Security Services (NSS) to prevent any kind of threat to the nation’s security.

The two were recruited separately by a sexy female agent, who uses her appeal to lure them into the agency. As they hone their skills and loyalty to the agency, their friendship is tested when they both fall in love with their recruiter.
