“No, it’s a mutual decision,” she says at the launch of Cathy’s debut album “Find My Way to You” under Mayumi Records of Bayang Barrios. “There are also those who say ako naman daw ang nagselos kay Krizza Neri, Aiza’s talent in ‘Protegee’. Also not true, as I even helped nga in choosing Krizza during the auditions. Whatever our reasons for breaking up, sa’min na lang yun. All I can say is yes, may tampuhan.”
Chen is a winsome mestiza beauty pretty enough to be an “artista”. Wasn’t she offered to join showbiz before? “May offers. I did some TV commercials, pero ayoko talaga mag-artista. I finished masscomm at Lyceum. Now, I’m 28 na, magma-manage na lang ako. I believe in Cathy’s talent and her songs so much.”
How did she meet Cathy? “When Aiza did a show in Metrobar more than a year ago, she did the front act. I got her after Aiza and I broke up last November.”
