Carla Abellana excited to work with Richard Gutierrez in their first soap together

CARLA ABELLANA was at the taping of “Legacy” last Friday, the birthday of her BF Geoff Eigenmann. “Wala nang chance magkita kami so ako na ang nagpunta rito,” she says. So she really loves Geoff? “Siempre naman.” And what’s her gift to him? “An Ipad classic. Yun ang request niya, e. Ayaw niya nung latest model, he wants that kasi mas bagay raw sa pakikinig niya ng music. Mas mura nga, but I thought wala ng ganung stock kasi lumang model na, buti available pa rin pala.”

She’s happy renewing her contract with GMA-7. “Buti nga they’re very patient kasi it took a while before I signed up again. Three years ang new contract ko and, siempre, may increase na sa pay ko.” She’s excited to work anew for her soap with Richard Gutierrez that starts taping this week. “Malayo locations namin, Batangas and Ilocos. I have to learn horseback riding. My role is a dedicated lawyer who works free for the poor.”

How does it feel working with Richard? “Naku, I’ve been looking forward to that since I joined GMA kasi he’s one of our ultimate leading men. So heto, natuloy na.”

What’s the title of their soap? “Dati ‘Rancho Paradiso’, but as of now, ‘Makapiling Kang Muli’ na kasi it’s part of the lyrics ng theme song.”

We tell her it sounds like the title of an old movie. We hope GMA-7 will be able to find a more contemporary sounding title before it starts airing.
