DOESN’T EULA CABALLERO feel insecure that, judging from the trailers of “Nandito Ako”, it’s quite obvious that it’s Jasmine Curtis Smith who’d get David Archuleta and not her? “We’re not really sure about that, so abangan nyo na lang kung kanino talaga mapupunta si David,” she says at the presscon TV5 hosted for her and other TV5 Princess (Danita Paner, Alex Gonzaga, Arci Munoz and Ritz Azul) at the Baguio Country Club where they were the special guest performers at the closing show of the annual Panagbenga Flower Festival.
Eula adds she’s just happy to be part of a show that’s trending worldwide on Twitter. “Almost everyday, talagang trending kami even in the U.S. and Canada, and various parts of Asia. Thanks for the overwhelming support of so many people here and abroad. Basta kanino man mapunta si David, Jas and I promised to support and not be insecure about each other. It’s also great to be given the chance to work with an international star like David who’s very nice and talented.”
She’s elated to be nominated for best breakthrough performance as Maricel Soriano’s ill fated daughter in “Yesterday Today Tomorrow”. “I want to the thank the Enpress Golden Screen Awards for the nomination. It’s an honor.” See artilce, Eula Caballero Intimidated By Maricel Soriano.
Eula was recruited by TV5 Star Factor in Cebu so she’s never been to Baguio. “Excited talaga ko to come to Baguio kasi first time namin dito ng parents ko so we came up a day earlier than the rest. Maganda, malamig and the people are so nice in giving directions when we get lost pag namamasyal kami.”
In the show held on a stage at Session Road last Sunday night, Eula sang her own version of Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” and she did good. TV5’s participation in Panagbenga is part of their regional campaign to gain more viewers in the provinces. At the parade, they had a spectacular float adorned with 20,000 flowers drumbeating their “More More More” programming strategy that introduces more shows in 2012’s first quarter like the new noontime show “Game N Go” hosted by Shalani Soledad, Gelli de Blen, Arnel Ignacio, Tuesday Vargas, Pretty Trizsa and Wendy Valdez, and their afternoon soaps “Felina, Reyna ng mga Pusa” with Arci Munoz and “Isang Dakot na Luha” with Danita Paner. TV5 exec Peachy Guioguio says their regional expansion with new powerful transmitters will be followed by going international. “We already launched Pilipinas Global Network in Guam and the Middle East,” she announces to the local Baguio press. “In May, we’ll open in North America and Canada.”
