“Nakausap ko sila ng director niya, si Ana Agabin, and we made it clear that from our end, what we’re doing is not a movie but a modernized graphic novel, komiks na futuristic at sci-fi ang dating,” she says.
We notice that her son Borgy often now accompanies her in her presscons. Borgy even helped her in the promo of their indie film, “Pintakasi”. Does this mean he’s preparing to get into showbiz, too?
“I’m just helping my mom,” says Borgy. “I believe in her project to get more tourists to visit our home province.” How’s Imee as a mom? “She’s pretty cool. She never imposes what she wants on me and my two brothers. She’s just very supportive.”
Some writers continue to urge Borgy to be an actor but, personally, we think it’s quite late for him to join showbiz now. Maybe, when he was younger, he would have had better chances of making it.
“Isa pa, he’s hesitant kasi he doesn’t speak Tagalog,” says Gov. Imee. “Mas malakas pa ang loob ng girlfriend niya (Georgina Wilson). Ingles din ng Ingles pero sugod na sa showbiz. I really like her, seryoso sa buhay.”
She says she never interferes with her sons’ decision. “Three boys, malalaki na, hindi ko kaya. They now have their own lives. At sa totoo lang, kapag mas pinakialaman mo, lalo ka lang hindi susundin, so bahala na sila sa buhay nila. Pinagdarasal ko na lang sila.”
