IZA CALZADO is guesting in “Maalaala Mo Kaya” for the first time this Saturday night and she’s excited about it as she has always wanted to be part of the show. This is the first of her scheduled four appearances in MMK as part of her celebration of her 10th year in showbiz. Iza felt her
late dad Lito Calzado was with her while taping for MMK. Their first taping day was at Himlayang Pilipino, where her dad and mom were buried. On the second taping day, a yellow butterfly appeared on the set. “Since he passed, tuwing may importanteng occasion sa buhay ko, may lumilipad na paruparong dilaw and it makes me feel patuloy niya akong binabantayan,” says Iza.
In MMK, Iza plays a woman who’s afraid of being an old maid so she agrees to having an unusual relationship. Someone dies and pairs her off with Zanjoe Marudo. Will real love bloom between them? Also in the episode is Rica Peralejo, directed by Nuel Naval who was the production designer in “Milan”, the very first movie Iza did (for Star Cinema), so she’s now comfortable with him.
