New Biritera Child Star Roseanne Magan Is Her Family'S Ticket To A Better Life

GMA-7’s NEW primetime soap “Biritera” is already rating high at primetime, getting an average of 26.7 household rating points in its pilot week and 29.0 on its second per AGB Nielsen, but GMA Drama Group still held a special presscon with the whole cast to further promote it. Director Maryo de los Reyes says it’s turning out to be as big a hit as their past show, “Munting Heredera”. We got to interview the parents of Roseanne Magan, the Biritera, Juanito and Rosemarie Magan, simple folk from Calbayog, Samar.

Juanito was born and raised there, but Rose was born in Manila then went home to Samar for a vacation as a teener and met Juanito who followed her to Manila. She was 19 when they got married and he’s 25. Now, their eldest son is 19 and works in the business of a relative. The other children are aged 17, 16, 14 (all in high school), 12 (in grade 5) then Roseanne who’s 10 (grade 3) and the youngest is 8 (grade 1.) Who sings in their family?

“Ako po,” says Rose. “Pero sa videoke lang. Never akong sumali sa contest. Pagpahingahin nyo muna. Kawawa naman.”

Her dad works in a factory making aluminium pots and pans.
