When Diether joined ABS-CBN, Star Magic was then still called as Talent Center and he’s part of Star Circle Batch 2. Piolo was with Batch 3. Being part of Star Magic taught them the importance of teamwork and the need to continue improving your craft. They also learned discipline, perseverance and humility. They thanked their handlers and road managers who shielded them from intrigues and problems.
On March 30, Star Magic artists will start their 2012 U.S. tour at Waikiki Shell in Hawaii: Piolo, Xian, Maja, Angelica Panganiban, Bea Alonzo, Kim Chiu, Enchong Dee, Erich Gonzales, Erik Santos, Jovit Baldivino, Angeline Quinto, Marcelito Pomoy, Young JV, Yeng Constantino, Vina Morales, Julia Montes, Gerald Anderson, Rayver Cruz, Zanjoe Marudo and Pokwang. On March 31, the Teleserye Bida 2012 US Tour will start at James Logan High in Union City, San Francisco, with Sam Milby, Xian, Rayver, Enchong, Gerald, Young JV and Pokwang. Then they go to Pickwick Theater, Chicago on April 1, Alex Theatre in Los Angeles on April 7 and West High School in Anchorage, Alaska on April 8.
Director Rahyan Carlos, head of Star Magic Artist Training, has also made a horror-drama film, “Anino”, featuring 160 of their workshoppers plus Dimples, Yeng, Jake Cuenca, Joem Bascon, Jodi Sta. Maria. This will premiere at SM North Edsa on March 26. In the concert scene, Star Magic artists Pokwang and Chokoleit, with Pooh and K Brosas, will do “4 the Best” at Music Museum on March 16 and 17. In the U.S., Marcelito and Angeline will do a show in Rancho del Ray Middle School in California on March 31 and at the Oxnard Performing Arts Center on April. Vina Morales, Erik Santos, Jovit Baldivino and Yeng will be at the Kapamilya Fun Day on April 1 at Valencia, LA. On April 23, Jovit and Angeline will start their European tour.
The Star Magic Basketball Team led by Gerald Anderson will have a match with OFWs at the Southorn Stadium in Hongkong on April 29. The team also includes Jason Abalos, Ejay Falcon, Young JV, Jose Sarasola, Fred Payawan, Matt Evans, Lance Christopher, Joseph Marco, Gerard Acao and Rayver Cruz.
Three new movie with Star Magic artist will be shown in summer. “Every Breath You Take” stars Piolo and Angelica, directed by Mae Cruz. “You Light Up My Life” stars Angeline and Coco Martin, directed by Jerome Pobocan. “The Reunion”, a barkada movie, stars Julia Montes, Jessy Mendiola, Xian Lim and Enrique Gil, directed by Frasco Mortiz. Four new TV shows also debut. This already started with “Dahil sa Pag-ibig”, followed by “The Princess and I” starring Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil and Khalil Ramos, shot in Bhutan. Also coming up are “Ina, Anak, Kapatid” with Jessy Mendiola, Andi Eigenmann, Enchong Dee, Martin del Rosario and Joseph Marco; and “A Beautiful Affair” with John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Megan Young and Janus del Prado, to be shot in Vienna.
