DEREK RAMSAY’S transfer to TV5 from ABS-CBN has the blessings of his long-time girlfriend Angelica Panganiban who told him to follow his heart. It’s not the huge talent fee alone that sealed the deal but the prospect of being TV5’s chosen broadcaster who will represent the Kapatid network in covering the Olympic Games that will be held in London this coming July. His dad is from London and England is his second country so he truly welcomes the opportunity of also doing the Olympic primer. He’s now 32 and the next Olympic Games will be held in 2016 when he’s already 36 so he chose the opportunity to cover it now.

Aside from this, Derek will also host TV5’s version of “The Amazing Race”, the international edition of which he earlier wanted to join without knowing he’ll be someday hosting its Pinoy version. But he’s not burning his bridges with ABS as he’s now still shooting a new movie for their film arm, Star Cinema, opposite Bea Alonzo.
