“I talked to my mom and Ruffa and Raymond talked to their mom at ayun, naayos naman agad as it’s just a simple case of misunderstanding,” she says.
She’s now accepting more acting jobs to hone her craft and tomorrow, she’ll appear in the special horror episode about beauty queens, “Korona”, in “Spooky Nights Presents”. She co-stars with Carmi Martin and Bubbles Paraiso. Carmi plays a former beauty titlist, Oria, in Barangay Papaitan who’s so obsessed with her crown that she won’t even let her equally beautiful daughter, Isabelle as Mabel, to join beauty pageants. Mabel dreams of following in her footsteps, but she says one beauty queen is enough in their family... and that’s her.
Mabel is so eager to pursue her dream and so she insisted in joining the Mutya ng Papaitan. But on the night she won the title, she was murdered. Bubbles Paraiso as Pamela, Mabel’s arch-rival, was considered as the prime suspect and was sentenced to life imprisonment. After Mabel’s tragic death, Oria left Barangay Papaitan.
After a few years, Oria decides to come home and leads the return of the Mutya ng Papaitan beauty contest in honor of her deceased daughter. But all hell breaks loose when on the night of the coronation, Mabel’s fiery ghost suddenly appears freaking out every one in attendance. Her delusion is that she is still the reigning beauty queen of Papaitan and no one will ever deserve that title besides her.
“Maganda yung role ko as ilusyonadang ghost na akala, beauty queen pa rin siya even in the after life,” says Isabelle. “I had fun playing it so don’t miss it on ‘Spooky Nights’ after ‘Manny Many Prizes’ on Saturday night.”
