“It’s a combination talk-musical variety show,” he says. “We’ll guest controversial personalities and tackle hot issues in a different way. Ako yung masa perspective at si Ogie ang elite, but the attack is comedic pa rin. This is what I tried to do before as Junie Lee, but now, I’m being myself.”
One of their first guests is Hayden Kho, a former doctor who lost his career due to the video scandals he got himself involved in. He’s been rejecting interviews before this, especially after his latest breakup with Dr. Vicki Belo, so this will be quite a scoop for “Pare & Pare”. Looks like he’s ready to take another shot in pursuing a showbiz career after his initial foray was stalled by the sex scandals. Since there’ll be a lot of singing in the show, don’t be surprised if he’d sing also since he joined “Celebrity Duets” before. The show will have its own live band to accompany the guest singers, headed by Mel Villena as musical director.
Michael V’s “Pepito Manaloto” had a controversial ending as it turned everything that happened in it was just a dream, making some viewers feel duped. What can he say about this?
“The show is an exploration of someone who won sa lotto and in the two years that it ran, naipakita na namin lahat ng possibilities na puedeng mangyari to a winner,” he explains. “So bago pa magsawa ang tao, we thought it’s best to end it na while we’re still rating high. About the ending na dream pala lahat, I’d refer those who complain to the movie ‘Inception’ starring Leonardo DiCaprio. Yun lang yun.”
