Why Sharon Cuneta Fought Her Twitter Bashers Back, Has Fun With Lolit Solis And Cristy Fermin In Taping Of Her New Tv5 Show

WE WERE invited to the first taping day of Sharon Cuneta’s show for TV5, “Sharon, Kasama Mo, Kapatid”, at their new studio at Delta Theatre. The former moviehouse underwent major renovation and is now a state of the art TV studio. Ate Shawie was in high spirits and started her spiel with why she had to answer back the nasty messages she got from her bashers on Twitter. “When they say ‘mataba ka’, I reply, ‘Oo nga, e’. Alangan naman sabihin kong it’s not true,” she laughs. “Tapos, sabi nila, pataygutom ako. E kaya nga ako mataba, kasi hindi ako nagugutom. Plastic daw ako. Hindi nga, palaban nga ako. Kung yung messages are just about me, okay lang sa’kin. Kaso, tinitira nila pati pamilya ko and when it’s my loved ones, hindi ako papayag paapi. Sabi nila, si Miel daw, hindi ko anak, kundi kay KC, inako ko lang. Tapos, si Miguel daw, kay KC rin, o anak ni Sen. Kiko sa ibang babae. Aborsiyonista rin daw kami. Mamatay na raw kami.”

She showed on screen some of the hateful messages she got and they’re really mean. We cannot blame Ate Shawie if she made “patol” to these poor lonely bitter people who obviously have an axe to grind against life itself. After giving them a piece of her mind, she said she’ll just ignore hecklers from now on. She’ll go on Tweeting and just give attention to the people who love and respect her. She wants to focus on the positive and this will be the slant of her new TV talk show.

We really enjoyed the taping of her pilot episode, which is about “Mga Babaeng Palaban”. Among the studio audience were Nanay Girlie and Nanay Esperanza, widows who raised their children by themselves. Ate Shawie talked to them then had a one-on-one interview with Faye Metin, the single mom of an autistic child whose husband works abroad. Her husband wanted her to follow him abroad but to leave their son behind in Manila. She chose to stay with her son and her husband remarried someone else. She, instead, took up education and put up a special school for kids like her son.

Ate Shawie’s finale guests are two feisty ladies well known as writers and as TV hosts, Lolit Solis of “Startalk” and Cristy Fermin of “Juicy” and “Paparazzi”. Lolit nearly ran away with the show because of her utter honesty in revealing much of herself. She recounted how she felt so depressed one Christmas season after breaking up with her husband as she was so broke and had no money to buy new dresses and shows for her two daughters who are now both married and live in the U.S. She was then working as publicist for Dolphy’s RVQ Productions and she was given a P500 check but it bounced.

She also confessed that she tried committing suicide by taking a lot of sleeping pills after her involvement in the 1994 Manila filmfest scam. It was Sen. Bong Revilla and the late Rudy Fernandez who rushed her to the hospital to revive her. She also admitted that she has a ghost writer.

But one of the show’s riotous portions was when Cristy asked her about her sex life and she said quite a mouthful. Cristy and Ate Shawie followed suit and also made their own revelations about their own sex life. Ate Shawie even revealed that her husband Sen. Kiko is so very “talented” when it comes to this aspect of their marital relationship.

If the show would be aired on an afternoon slot, we’re sure this part will be heavily edited to make it less risqué. It’s going to be a daily show, but they’re not sure yet as to what time slot it will be shown. Just watch out for it as certainly promises to be one helluva show.
