Charice gained a lot of sympathizers when DJ Mo and his co-hosts made fun of her in his radio show saying she has a sex video. They were glad when Mo and his colleagues were suspended. But some of them now say that they’re not exactly jubilant with Charice’s new persona.
“Hindi yun ang original Charice na nakilala namin, na nagustuhan namin,” they say. “Sobrang Ingglisera na rin siya ngayon. Kahit Tagalog mo kinakausap, Inggles pa rin ng Inggles.”
As for Charice, she says you have to take and accept her for what she is. Some folks predict that if Jessica Sanchez would win as the new American Idol, then Charice’s career as an Asian who made it big in the U.S. is definitely in danger of being eclipsed by Jessica. What with her staying now mostly in Manila since she accepted being a judge in “The X Factor” that will be hosted by KC Concepcion.
As early as now, local producers want to produce Jessica’s first big concert in Manila, even if she’d lose. What they forget is that Jessica would be under contract with AI for some time and her first concert would be the usual American Idol tour in various American cities right after the contest. Last year, all the 12 final contestants of AI 2011 also came to Manila to perform at the Big Dome and it was a hit, so we won’t be surprised if they’d do the same thing for AI 2012 finalists.
