Chef Sau Del Rosario Says He'll Leave Acting To Chef Boy Logro

AFTER DOING ‘Kitchen Battles’ and ‘Secrets of the Master’, Chef Sau del Rosario now hosts “Sarap to Heart” with Sam Oh, a cooking show with a twist as it’s also reality show with celebrity searchers looking for a date. Born on Oct. 25, 1964, Sau comes from a family of chefs from Pampanga. Even his lolo, mom and dad all cook well. At 5, he has learned how to prepare rellenong bangus. He took up HRM at UP then enrolled at the Culinary Institute of America where his dad also studied.

“But I really wanted to study in Paris so nagpunta ako roon and felt like the hero in ‘Ratatouille’ dahil being trained there is a nightmare. Naging waiter ako, pinagkaliskis ng isda, naglampaso ng sahig. I was complaining to my mom but she said, buti nga sa’yo. I stayed in Paris and Nice for 7 years and really learned a lot. Head chef na ko ng Equinox, then I got bored and moved to Singapore for 3 years, to Shanghai for 2 years and Bangkok for 1 year to study Thai cooking. This is my 20th year as a chef.”

Would he eventually try acting like Chef Boy Logro? “He’s my idol but I can’t do what he does. I’m very happy for him that he’s now also into acting pero di ko kaya yun. I don’t even think about acting, sa cooking na lang ako.”
