“Okay lang,” he says. “I was told about this kasi two days lang before the taping. Direk Mark Reyes, who directed me sa TGIS in 1998, called me and asked me kung okay lang for me to play Geoff Eigenmann’s best friend in the show. Sabi ko, okay, no second thoughts. I really missed acting and I also need to earn more as apat ang anak ko, may mga kapatid akong umaasa sa’kin and our mom is sick pa.”
How’s his mom now who’s still battling the big C? “Inuwi na namin ng bahay. Most of the time, she’s in bed, o kaya nasa wheelchair. She lost 40 lbs. na and still has chemo once a week. We all continue to pray for her.”
How’s his daughter with Raven Villanueva? “Angelica is now 13, may teenager na ko. Doon sa second ko, I have two girls, 11 and 10. Okay naman kami ng mommies nila. With my wife now, I have a boy, Emilio, who’s 4. They all live with me. Bumalik na kami sa bahay ng parents ko in Batasan Hills so they can be with their lola. They’re all close to my dad, so miss na miss nila ito. His ashes are with us at home and they offer him food and drinks.”
What did he do while away from showbiz? “I finished culinary arts, became a chef and put up my own restaurant. I’m also a consultant in a marketing and communications company. Pero hindi nawala yung kagustuhan kong umarte and I’m glad I’m now active again.”
