WRITER-DIRECTOR Joven Tan is helming the new version of “Ben Tumbling” starring Jerico Ejercito, the eldest son of Laguna Gov. ER Ejercito. They entered it in the Metro-Manila Filmfest but it was not chosen to be a finalist.
“Siguro dahil hindi pa kilala si Jerico,” says Joven. “Two days na lang kami, tapos na ang shoot.”
He says it’s not a remake of Lito Lapid’s “Ben Tumbling”. “Wala rito yung Vivian Velez character who betrayed him. This is told from the point of view of his sister, played by Camille Prats. Kasama rin sa cast si Dina Bonnevie as their mom and Kris Bernal as the love interest.”
Aside from this, he has finished a film tribute to teachers, “Ang Maestra”, starring Perla Bautista and is also finishing a horror flick, “Huling Habilin”, about an old woman who sacrificed her life to save some people but comes back from the dead to haunt those maltreating her grandchild.
Joven is now also a record producer. He produced the debut album of Anjed, a 14-year old student from Butuan he discovered in Facebook, for Millawave Multimedia and Total Entertainment Production.
