IS RUFFA GUTIERREZ justified in resigning from “Paparazzi”? This is what some folks are asking and some even say she’s just “pikon and nag-iinarte”. They add that if she was truly offended, then she should’ve walked out right there and then during the show, But she entertained all the allegedly offensive questions of her co-hosts and only after the show did she post her bad feelings in her Twitter account.
Well, you can watch what happened in the show last Saturday on youtube as someone uploaded it and you can decide for yourself if Ruffa should really feel offended. Personally, we can understand Ruffa’s feelings. It’s supposed to be a tribute to her as it’s her birthday, starting well with a video of her housing project in Payatas with Gawad Kalinga and with personal birthday cards from her two daughters. Things went unsavory for her in the Bulong ng Palad portion. Her co-hosts would ask her questions in a whisper and her answer would be either Aga Muhlach, Zoren Legaspi or Robin Padilla, all her past boyfriends.
Ruffa was shocked right from the first question. Although the questions were not heard by the audience, everyone was obviously so titillated, especially when Mr. Fu asked: “Sino ang may pinakamalaking...” To which Ruffa, said: “I won’t answer that. Ewan ko. Hindi ko sasagutin yan.”
Ruffa later twitted: “Hindi ako natutuwa sa birthday presentation ng Paparazzi for me. Hindi nyo man lang naisip na nanonood ang mga anak ko! Yung head ng PROGRESS Gold Milk of Wyeth was at the studio, my friends were watching.
Binastos ako ng Paparazzi on my birthday. I'm so sorry but The Buzz would never do this to me. EVER! From this day on, I will no longer be part of Paparazzi. I will never tolerate DISRESPECT in any form done to me, to my children or to my beloved viewers. I know God will provide work for me in other ways so I can take care of my daughters.”
TV5 issued a statement about it: “TV5 management is seriously concerned about the turn of events today at "Paparazzi" and is now looking into the incident. We promise everyone that we shall take appropriate action.”
A writer says TV5 should be thankful to Ruffa. “At least, ngayon, nakatulong si Ruffa to promote the show na kakaunti lang ang nanonood kaya hindi nagre-rate. People now will become more curious to watch it.”
Last Sunday night, the actual day of her birthday, Ruffa looked so gorgeous as she hosted the Miss World Philippines pageant with Edu Manzano. You wouldn’t suspect at all that she was so annoyed the day before in “Paparazzi”.
