Rommel Padilla Sees Son Daniel As The New Robin

ROMMEL PADILLA’s son with Karla Estrada, Daniel Padilla, is now one of the hottest teen idols at ABS-CBN. How does Rommel feel when some folks say his acting career was only revived because of his son? “Okay lang, it’s true naman,” he says. “Nagpa-thank you pa nga ako sa anak ko, e. I can see he’s following in the footsteps of his Uncle Robin.”

He plays Amy Austria-Ventura’s most trusted henchman in “Lorenzo’s Time” which stars Carmina Villaroel as the unusual love interest of Zaijan Jaranilla. Everyone knows Carmina used to be married to his brother Rustom. How does it feel working with her in “Lorenzo’s Time”?

“Kabado ako noong first day pero masaya akong nagkasama kami kasi ngayon lang kami nagkita after mamatay si Rustom,” he says. “Bibiruin ko sana siya, ‘Bakit hindi ka nakipaglibing?’ Ngayon, okay naman kami sa set.”

“I’ve always been okay naman with the whole Padilla family,” confirms Carmina. “Ever since, wala kaming naging problema.”

Has Rommel accepted Rustom as BB Gandanghari? “Noong una kong malaman, siempre, nagulat ako, nahulog ako sa upuan ko. Pero ngayon, tanggap ko na. Yun na siya talaga, e. Kunsaan siya happy, di suportahan na lang.”
