Guess who plays Gina as her younger self in the show. No one else but her own daughter Janica Pareno. It’ll be recalled that Janica once tried showbiz and made some movies with Viva in the 90s. But her heart was not in showbiz so she drifted away from acting.
“Pumayag lang ako noon kasi pinilit ako ng mommy ko,” she says at the presscon of “Lorenzo’s Time”. “But now, I think I’m more serious about it.”
Will she be as good an actress as her mom, who has won so many acting awards? “Naku, she’s one tough act to follow. Siguro, makuha ko kalahati man lang ng na-achieve niya, masaya na ako. Actually, aksidente lang kung bakit napasama ko sa ‘Lorenzo’s Time’. Sumama ko kay Mommy sa taping, then it turned out naghahanap si Direk Jerome Pobocan kung sinong gaganap as the young Gina, tapos nakita nila ako at yun, they decided akong kunin nila. Sabi ni Mommy, blessing daw talaga ang nangyari kasi kusang lumapit sa’kin, kaya ngayong nakabalik na ko, dapat seryosohin ko na. Oo naman.”
