Jodi Sta. Maria Forbidden To Answer Personal Questions At Her Own Presscon

RIGHT AT THE start of the presscon of “Please Be Careful with My Heart” (that starts airing today before “Showtime”), writers were already warned not to ask Jodi Sta. Maria personal questions. So there was no chance to ask her about her failed marriage to Pampi Lacson whose new squeeze is Iwa Moto (who accuses Jodi of having an affair with her ex-BF Mickey Ablan) and her rumored romance now with Jolo Revilla. We told her she’s no doubt lucky in career. Aside from “Please Be Careful”, she’s in two new movies, “Migrante, The Filipino Diaspora” and “Aparisyon”. But is she happy with her lovelife? “I’m happy with life in general,” she says.

To whom would she sing her show’s title song? “Hindi ko pa siya nakakanta kahit kanino. But after everything I’ve been through, kung sinuman yung next na darating sa buhay ko, I think may karapatan ako to tell him to please be careful with my heart.”

How will she explain her successful career? Among the female stars of “Tabing Ilog”, she’s the only one who continues to do lead roles and is considered the counterpart of John Lloyd Cruz who’s the most successful among the show’s male stars. “It’s because I focus my energy on positive things and I’m always thankful for everything. And no matter how busy I am, I don’t neglect my son Thirdy, who’s now 7.”

The show’s staffers were guarding Jodi tightly as writers interview her. One writer was still asking her a question but they already pulled her out and took her away, making writer Alex Brosas fume. “Walang modo. Kinakausap pa natin si Jodi, bigla na lang hinila.”
