RITA AVILA has left “Walang Hanggan” last month and the departure of her character has paved the way for the entry of a new one, played by Eula Valdes. She already said she left for health reasons, but issues continue to be raised against her.
“May pain kasi ako sa aking spine and neck and my doctor advised me to rest dahil kung hindi, baka ma-paralyzed daw ako,” she says. “So nagpaalam ako sa ‘Walang Hanggan’ na tatapusin ko lang ang first season at wala na ako sa extension dahil hindi ko na kaya. May invitations nga for me to guest in other shows, but I have to beg off.”
She no longer wants to answer the rumors about her, like she was fired because she can’t memorize her lines and that she had a fight with the show’s personnel when she lost an expensive earring used as a prop in the show. “Hindi naman mga totoo kaya let’s not just dignify them anymore,” she says. “Alam naman ng lahat ng mga kasama ko sa show what the truth is.”
As of now, she devotes her time to the launch of her new children’s book on Saturday, July 21, 3PM, “Si Erik Tutpik at si Ana Taba”.
“This is inspired by our own stories ng husband ko, si Erik, who’s so thin noong bata pa siya, at ako, as my real name is Ana and I’m so taba naman as a child. Dahil dito, lagi kaming tinutukso. The book has a positive message about having stronger feelings of confidence so hindi ka maapektuhan ng mga panunukso ng ibang tao.”
The launch will be held at St. Paul’s Publishing, 7708 St. Paul Road, San Antonio Village, Makati.
