Aga Muhlach-Regine Velasquez' 'Of All The Things' Finally Complete After Three Years

WHY DID it take three years to finish “Of All the Things”? “Epic movie kasi ito kaya inabot ng ganun katagal,” says Regine Velasquez. “When we started, wala pa kong asawa’t anak. Ngayon, napagdaanan ko na lahat yun.”

“The truth is nagkaproblema sa schedules naming lahat,” says Aga Muhlach. “Si Direk Joyce Bernal started some soaps. Ako, I did ‘In the Name of Love’ sa Star Cinema. Si Rege also did a new soap then got pregnant. Siguro, it was just not meant to be matapos then. But when we watched the scenes we’ve shot, wow, it’s a great movie, maganda, sayang naman, so we all said ituloy na natin. People won’t be shortchanged dahil it’s really good.”

When they did their past hits, “Dahil May Isang Ikaw” and “Pangako, Ikaw Lang”, didn’t they ever feel a desire (pagnanasa) for one another? “Si Aga, ang pogi-pogi, may feeling ako na di niya ko magugustuhan dahil di niya ko ka-level, so I never thought of him that way, yung may pagnanasa,” says Regine. “I was just happy and felt so blessed that I was given the chance to work with him.”

“I’ll admit may attraction,” says Aga. “But the whole time, galit siya sa’kin kasi late ako parati sa shooting. Para sa’kin, naging on kami, nagkahiwalay, pero hindi niya alam. Sabi niya kasi sa’kin: Hindi mo puede daanin sa puro porma lang, kailangan sabihin mo sa’kin ng diretso. E, never kong nasabi sa kanya. Si Ogie (Alcasid) ang nakapagsabi noon, kaya never naging kami. Pero maganda ang kombinasyon namin together on screen. We have great chemistry at hanggang ngayon, makikita yun dito sa ‘Of All the Things.’”

Written by Mel Mendoza del Rosario, Aga plays Umboy (short for Umbrella Boy), a bar exams flunker who holds office as notary public under an umbrella outside the DSWD office. Regine plays Berns (short for Bernadette), a social climbing fixer who acts as a go between for those who need to facilitate their transactions with politicians and government people. How these two unconventional characters get embroiled in a roller-coaster ride of romance, laughs and dramatic turns is what “Of All the Things” is all about.
