Bea Binene As A Singer On Her Detractors: 'Listen To My Album First Before You Judge Me'

BEA BINENE launched her debut album last Tuesday at Bella Ibarra. “Two years pa lang po ako, pinag-voice lessons na ako pero tinutulugan ako ng teacher ko,” she says. “Di siya bilib sa boses ko, but now may album na ko.”

Her album is titled “Hey, It’s Me! Bea”, a collection of revivals chosen for her by Galaxy Records, starting with Jamie Rivera’s “Hey, It’s Me” and followed by Regine Velasquez’ “Urong Sulong Ka”, Manilyn Reynes’ “Sayang na Sayang”, and Ogie Alcasid’s “Mahal Kita Walang Iba” that has two versions: her solo and a duet with Jake Vargas. The album has the minus one of all the songs.

“I told Ate Regine I revived her song and she said ‘Good luck’. Ganun din si Ate Manilyn who told me to give her a copy so she can listen to it.”

If she’d do a back to back number in “Party Pilipinas”, who’d she like to do it with? “Siempre, pangarap lang naman, dream big, aim high, si Ate Regine na.”

She’s like Anne Curtis who’s a non-singer but eventually got an album. What would she say to her detractors who are making fun of her on the net? “Before they judge me, listen to my album muna. And like Anne Curtis, dream ko rin mag-concert sa Araneta. Dream lang naman, e.”

Bea’s other wish is for one of her songs to be used as theme song of her hit primetime soap, “Luna Blanca”, where she and Barbie Forteza finally meet again this week when Bea as Luna rescues Barbie as Bianca from a deadly snake. But eventually, they’ll also be rivals over the same guy they know as Aki and Joaquin, played by Kristofer Martin. On the big screen, Bea is back with Jake Vargas in the indie drama on drug addiction, “Delusyon”.

See Bea in her mall tours at Robinson’s malls in Sta. Rosa Laguna on August 18, Starmills Pampanga on August 19, San Fernando Pampanga on August 25, and Imus Cavite on September 2. On September 2, she’ll be at SM North Edsa Skydome. For updates, visit beabinene.com.ph or her Facebook fan page, Twitter and Tumblr accounts.
