Maricel Soriano Wondering Why She Was Suddenly Replaced By Angel Aquino In 'Amorosa'

MARICEL SORIANO is a special guest in the movie of Jose and Wally, “Ikaw Na Da Best Ka”. She admits still feeling sad over the loss of her late showbiz father, Dolphy. “Masakit talaga as I grew up in the business with him as my dad in ‘John en Marsha’ and the many movies we did together,” she says. “That’s also how I felt when my showbiz mom, Nida Blanca, suddenly left us.”

There’s a proposal for “John en Marsha” to be revived, with her playing the Marsha role but the big problem will be who’ll play the role of John Puruntong. Dolphy’s interpretation will surely be a tough act to follow.

We also heard that the title role of “Amorosa” was originally offered to Maricel and Malou Choa Fagar dealt for her in talking to Star Cinema. Thing have more or less been settled between them and then, suddenly, they heard she was being replaced. The role was offered to Carmina Villaroel who felt that she’s too young to play mother to Martin del Rosario and Enrique Gil. Eventually, it’s Angel Aquino who was tapped to play “Amorosa”.

“But Malou Fagar got annoyed when she heard Maricel was dropped kasi marami raw demands, which is not true,” says our source. “Lahat nga, inako na ni Maricel, including being her own make up artist and using her own clothes kasi indie film ang treatment sa ‘Amorosa’, kaya nagtaka sila ng biglang hindi na siya kinuha at sinasabi pang marami siyang demands.”
