Singer-Composer Noel Cabangon Holds 'Tuloy Ang Biyahe' Concert For The Benefit Of Peta

NOEL CABANGON is a singer-composer who admits he’s a late bloomer. “Matagal ako sa alternative music before I went into mainstream when I was already 45 years old, with albums ‘Biyahe’ and ‘Panaginip’ for Universal Records,” he says. “Now I’m happy being in the mainstream.”

Didn’t he wish he started earlier? “Yes, but then, siguro, it was not really meant to be that time. I was into community activism in my younger years and I was with PETA (Philippine Educational Theatre Association) for the longest time as musical director, teacher and actor where I played the roles of Jose Rizal and Emilio Aguinaldo. My wife Beng is the executive director of PETA. We have a son, now 19, who’s taking up development studies in Ateneo at nagbabanda-banda na rin.”

He has a new album, “Tuloy ang Biyahe”, with 14 revivals of local songs like “Tuwing Umuulan” (the carrier single), “Anak”, “Kahit Na”, “Malayo Pa ang Umaga”, “Usahay”, “Iduyan Mo”, “Pumapatak ang Ulan”, “Handog”, etc. It’s now the most downloaded album in www.mymusicstore.com.ph It’ll also be the centrepiece of his “Noel Cabangon Tuloy ang Biyahe, The Concert” at the Music Museum on September 28, 8 PM, presented by PETA.

Noel continues to support the ideals of PETA, who will get the concert’s proceeds for its endowment fund to finance its cultural projects here and abroad.
