Angel Aquino: Today'S Busiest Actress

ANGEL AQUINO is our busiest actress these days. She played the title role in the horror flick “Amorosa” that opened on Aug. 29. This is followed by “Captive” that opened on Sept. 5, with her playing the role of the ill-fated hospital nurse kidnapped by the Abu Sayyaf.

She’ll next be seen in the drama-thriller “Biktima” that opens on September 16, written and directed by youthful balikbayan RD Alba. What’s her role in “Biktima”? “I play Alice, the wife of Cesar Montano,” she says. “I’m a TV journalist who’s assigned by my boss, played by Sunshine Cruz, on a dangerous assignment in a remote island. Pagdating namin doon, we were ambushed and all my companions were killed. Akala ng lahat, napatay rin ako but they can’t find my body. Cesar and our son concluded that I’m also dead. Six months later, a detective played by Ricky Davao, finds me in a rural area but I have no memory of what happened to me. I was taken to Cesar and my memory returns, but Cesar then is already living in with my best friend, Mercedes Cabral. Dun nagkaroon ng malaking conflict. Don’t ask me how this is resolved, basta it ends with a twist.”
