At 'Protege's Elimination Night Last Sunday, South Luzon'S Arny Ross Was Ousted

THE MENTORS of “Protege” got to perform with their respective wards last Sunday night. First, they all do a short film to showcase their acting skills then they do a musical number. The impressive ones for us are those of Ricky Davao and Roderick Paulate. Ricky said he’d turn the muscular Bryan Benedict into an action star and their short film, “Ninong”, shows the shirtless Bryan being beaten up by three goons upon the order of Ricky as Ninong. He fights back and subdues them all. Shelly didn’t do much except to cry and cry.

Roderick plays the balikbayan uncle of Japs de Luna and Elle Ramirez. He gets surprised when Japs turns out be a bading and Elle turns out to be a lesbian.

The most controversial short film is that of Phillip Salvador. We’re surprised that “Protege” allowed it since it involves incest and child abuse. Phillip rapes daughter Arny Ross and beats up Ruru Madrid so Ruru kills him violently. Arny is one of the better looking proteges and is fairly convincing as the incest victim, so we were surprised when she was the one eliminated later on. Joining her as Bottom 5 are Ruru, Japs, Shelly and Bryan who are now part of the remaining 9 proteges along with Jeric, Mikoy, Thea, Elle and Zandra.

Dingdong Dantes was absent as host since he’s in the show of “Manny’s Many Prizes” at Universal Studios. Journey host Carla Abellana and Inside Protege host Jennylyn Mercado took his place.
