Gov. Vilma Santos Stops Her Fans From Bashing Nora Aunor For Losing In Venice Filmfest

GOV. VILMA SANTOS herself told her fans to stop bashing Nora Aunor for losing as best actress at the Venice Filmfest. Jojo Lim, president of the Vilmanians, texted us: “Pasensiya na sa mga pasaway na Vilmanians na nag-react at nag-comment ng hindi maganda sa Nora Aunor-Venice award issue. Personal opinion nila yun.

We also got this text message from Gov.

This one is from another Vilmanian, Edic Piano, who sent it to us on Facebook: “Hi mario, Medyo malalim kasi ang dahilan kung bakit ganun na lang nag-react ang ilang Vilmanians. Alam mo ba duon sa isang internet poll (list of best actresses of the world) mas naungusan ng mga Vilmanians ang Noranians? Vi.”

To Jojo Lim, Aida Fandialan and Edic Piano, thanks for your messages. We’re glad Gov. Vi personally asked her fans to stop making fun of Nora. Like what we’ve written before, we’re sure Gov. Vi has achieved enough wisdown and maturity and is above such petty rivalries now so she won’t tolerate her fans engaging in a cheap word war with Noranians. As for Edic’s claim that Noranians started it, we really don’t know about that. All we’ve read are the messages of Vilmanians even on Facebook, and that’s what we’re reacting to. We’re also friends with some Noranians in FB, notably Albert Sunga who’s the most diehard Noranian we’ve ever known, and we never read any input from them putting down Gov. Vi or Vilmanians. In the final analysis, it’s a matter of good taste. We all know how much Gov. Vi has achieved not only in showbiz but also in public service, but she has remained so humble through it all. And her humility is winning her more fans in and out of showbiz as she practices the Bible teaching “pag binato ka ng bato, batuhin mo ng tinapay.” She’s surely right in her advice to Vilmanians: “Huwag kayong pumatol”.

About Gov. Vi, we know for a fact that she just got another offer from award-winning director Jeffrey Jeturian and top indie producer Atty. Joji Alonso to do a film that will be entered in the Cannes International Filmfest next year. Last year, they also offered a project to Gov. Vi, where she’ll be playing multiple roles, but the scriptwriter wants to direct it himself and not give it to Direk Jeturian, so the deal didn’t push through. We hope Direk Jeturian will be more successful this time to persuade Gov. Vi for them to do a film together for Cannes. Remember that it was Direk Jeturian who gave Gina Pareno all those best actress awards she won in various international filmfest for “Kubrador”.
