Gov. Vilma Santos Will Do Indie Film Intended For A Prestigious European International Filmfest

GOV. VILMA SANTOS has finally found an indie film project that she likes and is willing to do. This is the movie proposed by Atty. Joji Alonso and Director Jeffrey Jeturian. This is the same team who gave Gina Pareno so many best actress awards here and abroad for “Kubrador”. Direk Jeff is also the director of the his morning soap, “Be Careful with My Heart”. The indie project was especially conceptualized for Gov. Vi as Direk Jeff has long been dreaming of directing her someday. (The other actress in his wish list is Susan Roces.)

Gov. Vi has said in various interviews that she’s hoping “na matuloy talaga ang project na ito.”

We’re not at liberty yet to announce what the project is all about it. But if ever, it will be the first time that any A-list actress will be playing this kind of a demanding role. Gov. Vi will be required to look completely deglamorized and it’s really an acting vehicle that is pang-award as you will love and cheer for the character she’s supposed to play.

If and when she’d do the project, they have to shoot it by October to finish it as soon as possible. It will then be sent for consideration to one of the most prestigious international film festivals in the world. Atty. Joji’s “Posas” was also sent there early this year. “Posas” almost made it, but it wasn’t fully finished yet and was technically very rough so the programmers said no. So this time, they want to finish the Vilma Santos project early to make sure they can polish it technically before sending a copy of it to the noted European filmfest programmers.

This should excite Vilmanians no end. If ever, this would be their idol’s first entry to this world class filmfest. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that Gov. Vi would find time to do it. “Willing kaming mag-shoot on location sa Batangas, kahit tuwing weekend lang kasi dun lang siya available,” says Atty. Joji.
