Gwen Zamora Fulfills Dream Of Playing A Mermaid

GWEN ZAMORA has always dreamt of playing Dyesebel. Well, she finally gets her wish, somehow. She plays a mermaid called Anaira in “Aso ni San Roque”. “The difference is mermaid na aswang ako rito,” she says. “Ako ang reyna ng mga aswang sa tubig kasi si Gardo Versoza ang hari ng aswang sa hangin. I seduce fishermen and kill them.”

Will she go topless as a mermaid? “Naku, hindi naman for adults ang show namin kundi pambata so walang pa-sexy dito. I wear body stockings na flesh colored. Kahit sa ‘Bubble Gang’ hanggang shorts at tank tops lang ako.”

She has starred in an Indonesian movie, “The Witness”, which did very well at the box office in Jakarta. On the big screen, he plays Vic Sotto’s wife in the “Enteng Kabisote” series and she’s now playing the same role again in “Si Agimat, Si Enteng and Me”. How come on TV, she continues to play supporting roles? Before “Aso ni San Roque”, she also played support to Glaiza de Castro in “Biritera”. But on TV, GMA has yet to give her a lead role. Andrea Torres was given a break ahead of her in “Sana ay Ikaw Na Nga”, followed by Bela Padilla in “Magdalena”.

“I don’t know. Maybe you should ask GMA about it. Basta ako, I’m a good soldier. Kung ano ibigay nila sa’kin, I do it. Baka they feel na dapat muna kong i-prepare some more bago ko bigyan ng solo starring vehicle ko. Okay lang.”
