“Noon ko pa siya gusto kuning artista,” says Mother Lily. “May height, guwapo, tipong artista talaga.”
Has he always wanted to be an artista? “Not really. But the opportunity came so I gave it a try. I did three shows with GMA, ‘Marimar’, ‘Kim Sam Soon’ and ‘Luna Mystica’. Nag-enjoy ako. Masaya. Pero ngayon pa lang ako gagawa ng movies. This is a new beginning for me.”
Mother Lily says she has a career plan for Hayden. “After introducing him in ‘Bride & Lover’, he’ll do an action picture with Direk Tikoy Aguiluz, then I want him to star in a sexy drama, ‘The Other Man’. Kasi lagi na lang other woman, when I know many matrons na may other man. So siya naman ang magiging other man.”
Hayden has been undergoing acting workshops with a personal coach. “She’s Ana Valdez Lim, a graduate of Juilliard School in New York. Two months na yung one-on-one training namin and I’m learning so much about myself, which is very important. Before kasi, hindi ako makaiyak but through her exercises, I was able to get in touch with my emotions and Boom! Everything opened up and I’m now more vulnerable. I can now cry on cue sa camera.”
Does he think the public has forgiven him? “I admit marami kong nagawang pagkakamali sa buhay. Sana makita yun ng ibang tao at wag na nilang gayahin. About the public, it’s not my goal to please everyone. Kung ayaw sa’kin ng iba, I can accept that. Hindi ko naman ipinipilit ang sarili ko. But so far, when people see me in public, maraming bumabati, nagpapa-picture sa’kin.”
What does ex-GF Dr. Vicki Belo say about his return to showbiz? “She hasn’t asked me and we haven’t talked about it. But I’m sure she’ll support me kasi she’s always been very encouraging sa akin.” Does he have a new girlfriend? “Wala. I’m not even dating at all. I’m just too busy. I have Hayden fragrances, ZO skin health products and some businesses in China with my friends.”
Any message for Katrina Halili who just gave birth? “Congrats to Katrina. I’m very happy for her and I hope this new bundle of joy, Katrence, will bring her more happiness.”
