It's So Sad That Good Local Films Flop At The Box Office

WE FEEL SO sad that good acclaimed films released in theatres recently, like “I Do Bidoo”, “Mga Mumunting Lihim”, “Bwakaw”, “Posas” and “Captive”, didn’t do well at the box office. It’s good “I Do Bidoo” was still able to recover in its second week through positive word of mouth endorsement. We know it’ll have good legs at the box office and is still now showing on its 3rd week.

We hear a lot of people complaining that the local film industry churn out only inane rom-coms and horror flicks and there’s a dearth of more meaningful local movies. But now that we had a series of well made, thought-provoking films shown in local theatres nationwide, the viewers didn’t support them. Do you still wonder where the local film industry is headed?
