“Oo naman,” he says. “Malalaki na talaga mga anak ko. May dalaga na kong active now in showbiz, si Wynwyn Marquez. Puede ko na talagang anak sina Lovi at Sarah.”
Has he turned his back on politics? “No, I intend to run in 2013 as congressman of Paranaque District 1. Iba-ibang grupo ang nagpupunta sa bahay para awitan ako saying kailangan ako ng mga tao. Kapag natuloy ang pagtakbo ko, then I’ll resign from my show sa ABS, ‘Showbiz Insider Report’ (SIR). Babalik na lang siguro ko after the election.”
What can he say about ex-GF Kris Aquino openly rejecting the idea of him interviewing her for “SIR”? “Ako, I’m willing to interview her kung iuutos yun ng network. Pero kung ayaw niya sa’kin, okay lang, I respect that.”
He’s not offended or taking it personally? “No, I understand. Kasi kung minsan, ganun din naman ako. If I feel I’m not ready to be interviewed, I also decline. We have to respect the right of every individual.”
Since he’s now with ABS, hasn’t he seen Kris by chance in the studio? “No, di pa kami nagkita. Monday to Friday ang show niya, ako naman Saturday and once a week lang talaga ko magpunta roon.”
What if they chance upon each other? “Kung nandun na talaga, I’ll say hello. Kundi ako sasagutin, it’s all up to her.”
He’s glad to be part of a big project like “Tiktik: Aswang Chronicles”. “When I read the script pa lang, sabi ko, this is big. Ngayon pa lang may ganitong movie sa’tin filmed with a green screen at puno ng state-of-the art special effects. Nang mapanood ko nga ang mga eksena namin sa movie, wow, astig! I’m so proud to be part of this movie to be shown on October 17 as a pre-Halloween presentation.”
