Alton Brown returns with the new culinary battle-royale

Alton Brown, the James Beard Award-winning American television personality, author, actor, cinematographer and celebrity chef, is set to return with a new culinary battle-royale on Sunday, November 4th, when The Next Iron Chef: Redemption will be premiering in Food Network.

The fifth installment for the series gives a second chance to a number of great chefs, competitors, who during previous attempts, have not been able to win the competition. In addition to the ones searching for redemption, a number of newcomers are added to the mix with their own redemption stories.

"This season’s cast is filled with extraordinary chefs at the top of their game and they all know how fierce this competition is," said Bob Tuschman, General Manager and Senior Vice President, Food Network.

What makes the competition even harder for the Iron Chef competitors, is that the show kicks of with a competition where each of the cooks must make the miracle food by using the same ingredients that sent them home the last time.

Another interesting feature of the show is web-exclusive "Road to Redemption", where the tenth cast member will be named. The web-only tournament will take place from October 12th to October 26th on FoodNetwork.com.
