Ara Mina On Being Rocco Nacino'S Mom In 'Yesterday'S Bride': 'Problema Ni Rocco Yan'

ARA MINA turned 33 on May 9. Doesn’t she feel too young to play Rocco Nacino’s mom in “Yesterday’s Bride” since Rocco turned 25 on March 21? “Bale 8 years lang pala ko when I gave birth to him?” she laughs. “Puwes, si Rocco ang may problema. Dapat maging convincing siya na mas bata siya sa age niya. As for me, hindi naman ito bago sa’kin. Naging nanay rin ako nina Rhian Ramos at Jackie Rice sa ‘Ilumina’. Si Rocco naman, nag-research ako about him, magaling talaga siyang actor kahit baguhan pa lang. And in real life, parang preparation ito for me kasi gusto ko na rin talaga maging ina. I’m not getting any younger and kung later pa, baka mahirapan na ako.”

Does that mean she’s planning to settle down with current BF Mayor Patrick Meneses? “Wala pa kaming napag-uusapang ganun. Naiisip ko lang dapat magkaanak na ko kasi yung ibang kasabay ko, teenagers na mga anak.”

Ara is now also a pastry chef as she bakes her own cookies and cupcakes under the Hazelberry brand, Hazel being her real name. She brought some of them at the presscon for the press to sample. She also have beauty products sold as Ara’s Secrets.

About her rift with sister Cristine Reyes, she believes everything will be settled eventually, but she prays that Cristine will stop antagonizing members of their family.

“Huli niyang nakaenkwentro yung brother namin. Tinulungan nga niya pero grabeng manumbat si Cristine. Masakit magsalita. Wala akong balak iurong ang demanda ko sa kanya hangga’t hindi siya ang gumagawa ng first move para makipagbati sa amin. Sa totoo lang, bilib ako sa boyfriend niya (Rayver Cruz). I admire the way he loves her na tinatanggap niya ng buong-buo.”
