How long have they been on? “One year this November. Nakakatawa how we met. I saw her shooting a TV commercial and I was attracted to her. Later, I saw her sa supermarket at nagkakilala kami. She thought foreigner din ako. She doesn’t know I’m in showbiz and it’s only later when her friend, Kim Jones, the girlfriend of Jericho Rosales, told her kasama ako ni Echo sa Hunks. I already asked to marry her but ayaw pa niya. Kasi I’m 32 and he’s only 22. Sabi niya, let’s wait. Pero dahil sa’kin hindi na siya nakabalik sa U.K. and she has done a lot more commercials like KFC, Ponds and Sun.”
What did he do when he lied low from showbiz? “I helped my mom in our business, like Quintrix Manpower Agency that sends workers to Saudi and Rowena Resort in Los Banos. But I still act every now and then. I was in ‘Private Benjamin’, ‘Moron 5’, ‘Every Breath U Take’, ‘Amnesia Girl’ and ‘Wako-Wako’. I really wish they’d give me more assignments. I also get lots of invites to do All Star Basketball tournaments and host beauty pageants.”
What about his two younger brothers? “Michael is now married to Cherry Lou. They have a four-year old son. Aaron has moved to San Francisco.”
Released by Star Records, his new album, “Kapayapaan”, has 8 songs: “Pinoy”, “Nais Ko”, “Muling Tanggapin”, “Get Down”, “Freakin Hot Mama 1”, “Freakin Hot Mama 2” and the carrier track that promotes peace, “Kapayapaan”, for which he directed a music video showing 1,000 kids from all over the country singing the song in various dialects. He’ll launch the album and music video on ASAP on November 4.
