“I don’t know how that rumor started but it’s not true,” he says at the “Temptation of Wife” presscon. “Baka dahil kasi siguro si Rafael Rosell, lumipat for GMA to ABS at pareho kami ng manager (Popoy Caritativo) ngayon, kaya may nagkalat na ako naman ang lilipat sa ABS. But happy ako sa GMA dahil hindi ako nababakante, ang gaganda ng roles and projects assigned to me, so why should I leave?”
He plays a bida-kontrabida role in “Temptation of Wife” as Marcel, the cheating husband of Marian Rivera. “This is not new to me kasi medyo ganun din ang roles I played in ‘Sinner or Saint’ with Bianca King and ‘Magdusa Ka’ with Katrina Halili, and even sa movies na ‘Mano Po 6’ with Heart Evangelista and ‘Yesterday Today Tomorrow’ as kept boy ni Agot Isidro. Tanggap din naman ako ng viewers sa role na hindi goody-goody kundi yung maloko, mahilig sa chicks, na malayong-malayo sa’kin sa totoong buhay kaya malaking challenge lagi sa’kin how to play them,” he laughs.
Director Dominic Zapata says Dennis is one actor he always wants to helm as Dennis can work wonders with any role assigned to him. “Di ba sa ‘Stairway to Heaven’, napakabait naman ng role niya as Andrew na very loyal kay Marian all the way?” he says. “Very believable din siya doon, pero dito sa ‘Temptation of Wife’, he plays the opposite. And it’s so nice to direct him kasi wala siyang kiyeme, kahit sa sexy love scenes nila ni Glaiza de Castro, kung anong ipagawa ko, binibigay nila ni Glaiza.”
About his lovelife off cam, Dennis also denies the rumor that he and Bianca King have called it quits. “Pareho lang kaming busy kaya hindi kami masyadong nagkikita. Aside from ‘Temptation of Wife’, I’m in two new movies, ‘Lost Command’ episode ng Regal filmfest entry na ‘Shake Rattle & Roll 14’ ni Direk Chito Rono and ‘Sapi’ ni Direk Dante Mendoza, parehong horror films. Bianca naman is busy with ‘Luna Bianca’ and the filmfest entry ring ‘Sosy Problems’. Tapos magbabakasyon pa siya with Solenn Heussaff this November sa Paris. Basta, masaya kami sa isa’t isa.”
