Despite his busy acting sked, Derrick found time to enrol again as high school junior in Angelicum. “Gusto ko talaga makatapos ng high school kaya kahit mahirap, pinagtitiyagaan ko ito. Home study program ito pero mahigpit ang Angelicum. Hindi puedeng pa-easy-easy ka lang.”
What can he say about colleague Bea Binene’s being sued by a lawyer who used to be her friend? “Siempre, nakakalungkot, considering 14 lang siya, minor pa. I will pray maayos na lang nila out of court ang problema nila. I’m sure makakaya ni Bea at ng mom niya ang problema nilang yan. I’ll just be here to support them.”
It’s common knowledge he attempted to woo Sarah Lahbati before but she’s now on with Richard Gutierrez. How does he feel about it? “I’m happy for them kasi I can see happy sila. But I’ll always be here for as a friend.”
